This is superb Sameer even though i was not a student of Gadgil. But my friends who had embibed the image of Gadgil sir , is exactly what i am seeing now.
Ajit, I remember reading your diary when at Bangalore.. are you planning to post those recollections abt Sir ? it was wonderfully written ! look forward to reading it again :)
sam really awesome....some details are so carefully thot of...the way he holds the marker, the way he held the book and that slight bend while walking....dude awesome work
Hii Sameer .. I was gadgil sir's student in the 96-97 batch and after seeing these sketches my memories of almost a decade back are refreshed :) Superb work and i m sure u didnt draw these in class :D
My self Shekhar Ranade, student of Gadgil Sir in 1983 to 1986. He used to take classes std 10th onwards. He did not use spects at that time.Still all our batch mates meet the Sir frequently.
Sameer, You have done a great job..... I would only have two comments, Sir is very lean and fit and doesn't have gut and most importantly he does not hunch. But Anyways the spirit you showed in drawing this is just great. Thanks to you and Hats off to the great man himself.

Sketch Number 2 matches very closely. Number 1 and 3 do not (in my opinion).
It's nice to revisit those memories - I am planning a post soon (I guess you have read it already).
Another point -> Gadgil sir would never number an equation!! Same with the size of the letters on the board :-)
Sorry for so many points, but that's what Sir would look for anyway, wouldn't he? Nice.

Fantastic. All my 6 am memories come rushing back. Drift your cartoon a little to the left and You would see me petrified on the wooden stool!
how about sketching Maa (prof in coep)?
Dushyant, LOL !
Milind, I'll surely try if I get hold of her photo :)

Aradhita, of course I didn't do anything of that sort in the class! :D
Sameer
Very nice sketches, brought back memories of good old days. I am sure you know by now that Gadgil sir's classes will stop from this year.
Saurabh
Saurabh, nope. I wasn't really aware of that.. thanks for visiting though.
Sameer,
Seems like you had a marked influence of the legendary RK L in your eariler caricatures?
Nice work!

Siddharth
Siddharth, Amita, Rohit & Yatin - thanks for your comments.
Yatin, I don't have any other caricatures of Sir at the moment.
Rohit, very true.. my earlier works were heavily influenced by RKL. My brush work still is, to some extent.
One more characteristic of Gadgil Sir can be the wrist watch he had. May be you can show him adjusting the wrist watch in the morning at 6:15 AM.
